After a successful career in healthcare finance, Dawn Richards established The Law Office of Dawn Richards in 2008 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania where she practiced general law handling cases including real estate, tax, employment disputes, estates, trusts, family law, billing, contracts and healthcare.
After heading for a warmer climate in South Florida, in 2015 Dawn Richards worked in regulatory compliance while handling cases in estate planning and business start up.
Having worked in Georgia with the US Army and for large for profit health care facilities over the years, Dawn Richards decided to plant roots in the state of Georgia and now practices in the areas of business, employment and healthcare with a small part of the practice dedicated to estate planning for clients and friends.

Dawn Richards was born and raised in a small town in Northeastern Pennsylvania. At 17 she joined the US Army and served a total of 6 years as a Medical Specialist. She put herself through college as a phlebotomist in Las Vegas, Nevada. She excelled in math and graduated in 1991 with a bachelors degree in Accounting. She worked her way up from Financial Analyst in 1991 to Chief Financial Officer in 1998. Over the next 20 years she worked in business as the lead financial officer at for-profit and not-for-profit healthcare centers, hospitals, clinics, HMOs, and integrated delivery systems. In 2008, while serving as CFO to a large teaching hospital in Philadelphia, Dawn earned her Juris Doctor from night school at Temple University. She opened her own general practice law firm in Pottsville, Pennsylvania and later spent 6 years at the CapozziAdler law firm in Harrisburg Pennsylvania practicing in the areas of business, employment and compliance. In 2015, Dawn headed for a warmer climate in Fort Lauderdale. While holding positions in regulatory compliance and finance, Dawn helped clients with estates, wills and trusts on a part time basis as part of Dawn Richards Law. She moved the firm to Ellijay, Georgia in 2019 and is now assisting clients in small business, healthcare and estate planning.
