About Dawn Richards
Dawn grew up in the small town of Saint Clair, Pennsylvania and after graduating from high school she joined the United States Army as a Medical Specialist. She served in Nurnberg Germany and Savannah Georgia. Later, she worked her way through college in Las Vegas, Nevada as a Medical Technician at Valley Hospital and Medical Center where she drew blood and plated specimens in the laboratory.
Following graduation from college with her Bachelor’s of Science in Accounting and Master’s in Business Administration, she worked her way from Financial Analyst to Chief Financial Officer in the field of healthcare. Her business experience includes over 20 years as a senior leader in various healthcare organizations where she was responsible for all aspects of organizational finance including developing short and long term strategic plans, maintaining financial systems, evaluating business opportunities, implementing internal controls and making recommendations to enhance business performance.
After a successful career in healthcare finance, Dawn pursued her dream of becoming an attorney and graduated with her Juris Doctor from the Temple Beasley School of Law in Philadelphia. She worked in general practice at her small solo office in Pottsville Pennsylvania helping clients with tax appeals, custody, wills and trusts, healthcare powers of attorney, Medicaid planning, small business collections, guardianships and Medicare appeals. She joined the firm of CapozziAdler in Harrisburg PA where she worked with businesses to defend against union claims, employment actions, and government investigations.
Her past and current clients include long-term care facilities, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, physician practices, non-profit organizations, pharmacy service companies, hospitals, charter schools, and members of the communities in which she provided services.
She holds a license to practice law in both Pennsylvania and Florida and is a resident of Palm Beach County.
